This VideoCast titled "Redefining the Fundamentals of Biosecurity in African Pig Farming," aims to critically examine and modernize biosecurity practices in African pig farming by reevaluating current practices, identifying and discussing common biosecurity gaps and reinforcing fundamental principles and measures to prevent disease outbreaks in pig farms. In the face of emerging and re-emerging swine diseases such as African Swine Fever (ASF), the need to re-examine and modernize biosecurity practices in African pig farming has never been more urgent. Therefore, the session will challenge wrong practices and introduce innovative approaches suited to both smallholder and commercial operations.
