Javier Martínez Lobo

He graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) in 2004 and obtained his PhD in Veterinary Medicine from the same university in 2010 with the doctoral thesis "Antigenic and pathogenic variability of PRRSV". He has had training from pig production companies and in pharmaceutical companies, as well as in the University of Nebraska (USA).

He has worked as a researcher in the Animal Health Departments of the College of Veterinary Medicine of León (2011-2014) and the  College of Veterinary Medicine at Complutense University of Madrid (2011 and 2014-2016) in infectious pig pathology. He has collaborated in teaching work for the veterinary degree at both the Complutense University of Madrid and the University of León.

He is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Animal Science at the University of Lleida where he focuses his teaching work on the subjects of Swine Medicine and Health, and Diagnosis of Infectious Diseases. In addition, he participates in the training of postgraduate students in various masters in different aspects related to the production and health of the pig.

His research work focuses on the development of effective and safe vaccines against PRRSV.

In 2013, he was awarded certification by the European College of Porcine Health Management and in 2018 he became a member of its Board.
