Collaboration for Better Animal Welfare and Meat Quality!

We’re excited to announce that two EU-funded projects – mEATquality and WelFarmers – have joined forces to strengthen communication and share best practices across Europe.

Together, we aim to promote extensive husbandry practices, improve pig welfare, enhance meat quality, and build consumer trust, while supporting sustainable farming and the EU Farm to Fork strategy.

What type of heaters are most common on farms?

Common heating equipment on farms includes electric heaters, gas heaters, and oil heaters.

Why is it important to control and reduce NH3?

Determining the current ammonia levels on the farm using a specific meter is the first step in understanding the farm's current situation.

Reducing ammonia emissions inside barns is a priority for farmers, both from a health and welfare perspective for animals and workers, and from a financial perspective for the farm.

Having reliable records of the existing concentration of NH3 in the different areas of the farm will ensure the necessary evidence for compliance with current regulations governing optimal animal welfare conditions on farms.

How are disinfection arches activated?

Disinfection arches can be activated using photocells or by manually activating push buttons. Photocells activate the disinfection arch automatically when the presence of the vehicle to be disinfected is detected. Using a manual push button allows the disinfection arch to be activated at any time.
