I was born in Lisbon on July 3, 1955, and I am licensed in Electrical Engineering, by the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST). I never exercised because I have always been fascinated by the business of my family: Agriculture.

I was always in the associative movement, having held the positions of President of the ancient FPAS (Federação Portuguesa de Associações de Suinicultores) between 1986 and 1988, and Director of the CAP (Confederação dos Agricultores de Portugal), from 1985 to 1991.

Today, in addition to my work as pig producer and farmer, I am a member of the "Forecast of Pork Meat" Working Group in the European Commission in Brussels and Chairman of the COPA-COGECA Working Group for Pork and pig meat (European Commission).

In 2013, I founded Agroinfo.pt where I perform editing and coordination, in order to provide comprehensive and specialized content on agricultural and livestock activities, providing the recipients with the knowledge and tools necessary for modern management and success.

I recently set up the ATDN Consulting, Lda., in order to collaborate in the development of applications for EU funds, under the PDR 2020.
