Iberian pig

It is a breed that is native to the Iberian Peninsula and traditionally reared in extensive conditions. They are animals that grow slow but with a good fat infiltration. From them we produce meat products as the Iberian ham.

Black varieties:

  • Negro lampiño (hairless)
  • Negro entrepelado

Red-coloured varieties:

  • Retinto
  • Rubio andaluz
  • Manchado de Jabugo

Other varieties:

  • Negro de Puebla
  • Negro de Campanario

Torviscal was obtained from the two previous varieties and the Portuguese varieties: Ervideira and Caldeira.
