Sandra Edwards is Professor Emerita at Newcastle University, UK, having retired from the Chair of Agriculture in 2017. She worked for more than 30 years in applied research with a focus on the multidisciplinary interactions between nutrition, reproduction, behaviour and welfare in pigs and other farm livestock. She has been active in a number of national and international academic and industry committees, including Council member of the European Federation of Animal Science and President of the British Society of Animal Science.  She has also been a member of the UK Farm Animal Welfare Council and of the Animal Health and Welfare Panel of the European Food Safety Authority.
